Deminer (or mine detection robot) league is one of the newest leagues in IranOpen RoboCup. The ultimate mission is to detect and clear some artificial mines in a rough terrain autonomously. The robots should not strike the laid mines. To achieve this goal three levels have been defined in this competition:
1. Autonomous robots in a smooth minefield
2. Manual (tele-operated) robots in a rough minefield
3. Technical challenge (innovative ideas to clear or remove the mines)
Each robot competes in either of the levels. All mines are artificially made of metal or plastic objects. The mines are laid 10-15 cm below the ground. Each robot has 20 minutes to detect mines in a 6m x 6m minefield.
